It seems that Reese Witherspoon has regained her groove. During a date night in New York City on September 4, the 48-year-old woman was grinning like a teenager who had just fallen in love with her new boyfriend, the German financier Oliver Haarmann. Oliver escorted the Hello Sunshine magnate into an event for the publisher Assouline while she was wearing a pretty little black dress.
"She's excited to see where this goes," a source told Star Magazine.
In July, Reese and the 57-year-old were seen on a romantic dinner date at L'Artusi in the West Village. This was the first time that connections between the two were made.
In the past few months, it was claimed that "Reese has been having such a great time with him. He pampers her and loves taking her out to the best restaurants and to schmooze with his socialite friends."
The anonymous insider went on to say that the nighttime mingling is "a world away" from the lifestyle that she enjoyed with her ex-husband, Jim Toth, who was a former talent agent and whom she divorced a year ago.
"Jim was always working, and when he wasn't, he wanted to stay home and recharge," the undisclosed informant shared. "Reese missed going on fun dates and having a social life."
Also, according to the tipster, the Oscar winner is even considering relocating to New York in order "to give Oliver a real shot."
The “Morning Show” star also made a significant move by introducing her daughter Ava, who is 25 years old, and her son Deacon, who is 20 years old, to her new boyfriend. Her children with her first husband, Ryan Phillippe, came with her, but not Tennessee, 11, (her son with Jim), who remained on the West Coast.
"They want to see her smiling and happy," the mole stated. "She would never date a guy they didn't approve of."
Haarmann is a graduate of both Brown University and Harvard University, where he also received a master's degree in business administration.
KKR, a worldwide investment business based in London, was where the financier began his professional career. In 2010, he left KKR to establish Searchlight Capital Partners, a private equity firm.
In December of 2023, Haarmann was in the process of negotiating the purchase of ten percent of the New York Islanders. After a couple of months had passed, The New York Post published an article stating that the Islanders had confirmed that Haarmann had purchased a share in the team. This made him the second person to ever do so in a single year.
In the past, Haarmann, like Witherspoon, was previously married. After having two children together, he and his ex-wife, Mala Gaonkar, decided to end their marriage and divorce.
In collaboration with his ex-wife Gaonkar and their mutual friend Sema Sgaier, a veteran of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Haarman established a charitable organization known as the Surgo Foundation.
