Prince William and Princess Kate consistently offer wise counsel in parenting and frequently disclose glimpses of their domestic lives at public engagements. Throughout the years, the royals have disclosed considerable insight into their parenting approach, from preferred bedtime narratives to restrictions on screen time.

Recently, Prince William unveiled an additional principle he adheres to when raising his three children.

On October 15, the 42-year-old Prince of Wales participated in a community day in London organized by the NFL Foundation UK. As a token of appreciation for his visit, he received an American football to take home to his children, which led him to humorously reference a "crucial motto" for parenting.

"Oh, that's very kind. Never go home empty handed! That's a crucial motto of being a parent. That's really kind of you. Thank you very much. We'll do some practice together. See how many windows I can smash!" Prince William said in a video shared by The Independent.

Prince William's candid reflections on parenting his three children, Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, are not unprecedented since he has previously shared his experiences in recent weeks.

Princess Kate, 42, has been secretly recuperating from cancer for most of the year, NBC News reported. At the same time, her husband, Prince William, has assumed responsibility for public appearances, receiving numerous tiny mementos and sweets as expressions of support from well-wishers.

During public engagements, Prince William has inadvertently revealed various details regarding his children's recent interests, including Princess Charlotte's enthusiasm for "dancing and performing " and the tendency of all three children to "wrestle over the remote" when determining television viewing preferences.

The family's strong bond is evident despite the past year's challenges, with a palace insider noting that George, Charlotte, and Louis appear "quite content with life."

A palace insider previously told PEOPLE Magazine, "Those children appear quite content with life," referring to the Wales children. Much of it is the stabilizing normalcy that Kate provides, which is reflective of her upbringing. Prince William is exceedingly fond of it.

A source close to the royal household indicated that she values the significance of familial time due to her diverse background. She was not raised in that aristocratic environment where children are seen briefly daily.
