The status of Jessica Simpson's marriage to Eric Johnson has been the subject of speculation for several weeks. Then, on November 11, the singer-actress, who has been in Tennessee since last year, recording her first album in 14 years, posed new concerns in a cryptic Instagram post.
“Interviews in my Nashville music room where I unearthed my singular magic,” she captioned a series of photographs that showed her curves in a velvet chair, wearing black platform boots and a dress worn high enough to expose the tops of her thighs. “This comeback is personal,” she added. “It’s an apology to myself for putting up with everything I did not deserve.”
Fans were thrilled. “Is this J Simp saying she’s single?” one commenter asked, while another stated, “I think her photos have been saying that for months.”
Jessica, 44, has allegedly been spending weeks away from Eric, 45, as she records in Nashville. The fashion brand entrepreneur, who shares her children, Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5, with Eric, has also refrained from wearing her wedding ring publicly in recent social media posts.
On November 12, Eric was photographed without his wedding band while in L.A. An unnamed insider told In Touch Weekly that Jessica and Eric have "just grown apart" after 14 years of marriage and a decade of being together.
Since Jessica shared images from their children's spring break in April, the retired NFL player has not been featured on his wife's Instagram account. According to the insider, there have been more signs, as it has become increasingly evident that the former MTV star and the former San Francisco 49ers tight end do not share the same aspirations or attraction to the spotlight.
The insider asserted that Jessica has recently been reevaluating her happiness, her marriage, and her business empire and is now prepared to begin an entirely new chapter in her life.
She is not one to surrender easily. The tattler went on to say that they attempted to get married through couples counseling, which was successful for some time, but after that, things went back to how they were before. It was also mentioned that Jessica and Eric had followed this path for quite some time. They spent a lot of time together when they were younger, but now they don't. Suddenly, the spark has vanished.
According to the informant, Jessica will forever be appreciative of Eric for his support during her battle with alcohol addiction. However, the reality is that "she has changed a lot of her thinking and priorities since she got sober [in 2017]."
Eric has always been supportive and an excellent father, but he and Jessica have had to have some tough conversations, particularly concerning the status of their relationship. The mole went on to say that Eric has always been supportive.
Later, TMZ reported that two individuals directly associated with Jessica had communicated with two divorce attorneys within the past two months. The same source stated that the devil is already on the wall. As time goes on, it becomes increasingly apparent that the situation has come to an end.
