Ellen DeGeneres has taken to Instagram to set the record straight on rumors surrounding her newly acquired U.K. farmhouse, located in the picturesque Cotswolds region. Reports had circulated over the weekend that her property was inundated by floods following severe storms in the U.K., but the comedian clarified, "Our UK farmhouse did NOT flood."

The post, shared Sunday, also marked a heartfelt milestone for DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, who celebrated their 20th anniversary. "20 years ago today we began this relationship not realizing what a long beautiful adventure this would be," the former talk show host wrote. "You are the best thing that ever happened in my life. You take care of me. You help me see the good in everything."

DeGeneres, 66, and de Rossi, 51, recently relocated to England, reportedly motivated by the results of last month's U.S. presidential election, which saw Donald Trump's victory over Vice President Kamala Harris. According to sources, the couple sought a fresh start and quickly fell in love with the Cotswolds, a region renowned for its rolling hills and celebrity neighbors.

Their move came after selling their estate in Carpinteria, California, for $96 million in August. DeGeneres, an avid real estate enthusiast, has bought and sold more than 50 properties throughout her life, describing house flipping as her "version of travel."

Rumors about flooding at their new home were sparked after the River Thames broke its banks in the wake of Storm Bert, leaving parts of the Cotswolds submerged under five feet of water. While roads and properties across the region sustained significant damage, DeGeneres confirmed that their 43-acre estate was untouched by the floods.

The BBC reported that severe storms in the U.K., including days of heavy rainfall and strong winds, resulted in at least five deaths and caused significant damage to homes, roads, and rail networks. Despite the devastation, DeGeneres and de Rossi's property remained unaffected, as the couple continued to settle into their new life abroad.

DeGeneres and de Rossi were recently spotted at The Farmer's Dog, a local pub owned by English TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson. The couple mingled with Clarkson, his partner Lisa Hogan, and musician James Blunt, while enjoying a private performance by The Corrs, according to sources.

The pair's transition to the U.K. marks a significant lifestyle shift. A real estate insider told PEOPLE that DeGeneres had been house-hunting in England earlier this year, eventually finding a property she adored. "She doesn't travel a lot, so flipping houses is her way of changing scenery without moving too far from her comfort zone," the insider said.

Their new neighborhood boasts a star-studded roster of residents, including David and Victoria Beckham, Kate Moss, and Elizabeth Hurley. The area also holds royal ties, with King Charles and Queen Camilla's Highgrove House located nearby.

As DeGeneres and de Rossi adapt to their quieter English life, DeGeneres remains focused on celebrating personal milestones and clearing up misinformation. Reflecting on her marriage, she concluded her Instagram post, "So happy we get to travel and explore the world together in the next 20 years, and looking forward to our first snowy Christmas."
