Jay-Z and Roc Nation are being sued by celebrity attorney Tony Buzbee.
Buzbee filed suit in Harris County, Texas, on Wednesday. Jay-Z and his record label are accused of breaching Texas law by paying former Buzbee clients to sue his law company.
Buzbee represents the lady who claims Jay-Z and Sean "Diddy" Combs raped her at 13. He filed a New York lawsuit for the accuser in October and added Jay-Z. November saw the 55-year-old artist counter sue in Los Angeles.
The Roc Nation founder denied the attack and said it never happened. The complaint also cited the mogul's lawyer, Marcy Croft.
Roc Nation called the case "baloney," USA Today reports.
"Tony Buzbee's baloney lawsuit against Roc Nation is nothing but another sham. It's a pathetic attempt to distract and deflect attention. This sideshow won't change the ultimate outcome and true justice will be served soon," the statement read.
Croft also addressed the outlet.
"Tony Buzbee has now conjured up fantastical allegations against me and my firm well-known corruption fighters in a desperate attempt to distract from his mounting legal woes," she said. "We look forward to addressing these false allegations and having them dismissed."
The Los Angeles Times said that they sent scammers with "fake badges."
It is said in the lawsuit that the investigators frequently used fictitious identities, flashed badges, or credentials but refused to allow the clients to view them. During a few of the interactions, the investigators were aggressive, and in at least two of them, they pretended to be acting on behalf of the state of Texas.
They also reportedly offered the client up to $10,000 to sue the Buzbee Law Firm, according to the filings. The lawsuit asserts that Roc Nation was the source of the funding that was used for the alleged "conspiracy."
Buzbee asserts that these individuals have taken their attempts to intimidate the attorneys of the Buzbee Law Firm to a new level, preventing them from fulfilling their crucial responsibilities in Diddy's case.
Jay-Z and Diddy allegedly raped a 38-year-old lady during a 2000 party after the MTV Video Music Awards in New York. The Alabama lady said she walked to a gas station and contacted her father for a ride following the attack.
After her father denied picking her up at a gas station, the accuser said she "made mistakes" and acknowledged inaccuracies in her tale, according to The Blast. She also remembered talking to a star at the party who was later revealed to be touring during the 2000 MTV Music Awards.
The accuser stands by her tale despite contradictions. Jay-Z disputes the accusations and is not indicted. In his countersuit, Jay-Z called the accuser's accusations "patently false."
The Blast stated that Jay-Z's lawyer, Alex Spiro, said the singer was "upset" for his wife and children at a New York news appearance.
Jay-Z said Buzbee sued for money and fame.
