Many people are relieved to learn that Taylor Swift and Blake Lively remain the closest of friends, despite Swift being named in the lawsuit.
Page Six confirms that Swift and Lively remain close friends, despite Justin Baldoni trying to involve Swift in his legal battle with Lively. Sources say rumors of tension between the two women are "not true."
Swift, known for promoting her friends' projects, stayed low-key about Lively and Baldoni's "It Ends With Us" film.
At the August 2024 premiere, she didn't publicly promote it like she did for Zoë Kravitz's "Blink Twice," but contributed her song "My Tears Ricochet" to the soundtrack, featured in the trailer and a key scene.
"She was with me throughout this entire process, so I think that, for better or worse, she experienced the whole thing with me," Lively said in a prior interview with "CBS Mornings" about her celebrity pal.
"This was actually it's quite a small budget movie. So we never thought, like, our eyeballs were not that big to think that we could put one of her songs in the movie and it had to be," she added.
Since the movie's release, allegations have claimed Swift made larger donations privately.
Baldoni filed a $400 million defamation and extortion lawsuit against Lively, accusing her of using Swift and Ryan Reynolds to pressure him into accepting script changes.
He also stated they met at Lively's New York apartment to discuss a key rooftop scene.
Baldoni later texted his former co-star, praising her work for making the project more enjoyable and stating his feelings would have been the same without Ryan or Swift's influence, as per The Cut.
However, his attorneys argued that he felt compelled to send the message, insisting he genuinely liked her work and wasn't pressured by Reynolds or her friends.
They also pointed to a text from Lively, who allegedly gushed over Swift and Reynolds, calling the message "unmistakable." In texts included in Baldoni's lawsuit, Lively also joked about being "Khaleesi" with "a few dragons," referring to Swift and Reynolds.
She allegedly remarked that, for better or worse usually better her dragons protected those she fought for, adding that everyone, including Baldoni, would benefit from them.
Baldoni's lawyers argued he wasn't just dealing with Lively, but also her "dragons" two of the world's most powerful celebrities who could complicate things for him.
Lively's legal team responded, calling the lawsuit "another chapter in the abuser playbook," claiming it's typical for an abuser to turn the tables when a woman speaks out with evidence of harassment.
Lively had filed a December complaint accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment, emotional distress, and more, claiming he made her uncomfortable with inappropriate discussions and launched a smear campaign.
Baldoni's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, called the claims "categorically false," and his team released footage and a voice note of him apologizing to prove his innocence.
Lively insists the Baldoni video "corroborates" her statements.
The scandal has the "Age of Adeline" star hiding. Despite his Golden Globe nomination, she and Reynolds skipped the show, although he recently supported Hugh Jackman.
Lively and Reynolds attended the Eras Tour in New Orleans in October 2024, two months before Swift's charges against Baldoni were made public.
