The “Fortnite” Summer Skirmish is over and done with and a relatively unknown player has risen from an estimated 100 players as this year’s player. MorgausseTV took home the $250,000 grand prize for his efforts, one that included a perfect game with a Victory Royale and 7+kills.
In all, MorgausseTV totaled 11 points in seven matches and also 20 eliminations. His first-place finish earned him $225,000 while also getting $25,000 bonus from his one Victory Royale. With the feat, MorgausseTV has now carved a name for himself and is expected to gain as well in terms of following.
However, there were also interesting sidelights at the ‘Fornite’ Summer Skirmish that took place at PAX West in Seattle the last four days. This included Blind, a player who rose to fame after his double solo wins at the Ninja’s Vegas event, scoring a perfect 6-point game and solid placement, Forbes said.
Aside from him, there was also Aydan and Nick Mercs as both went back and forth throughout the event. There is also the controversial issue at the Mystery Cube as well as the surprise inclusion of a seventh event.
At the Mystery Cube, a final group of players was expecting to have their work cut out for them with the low-gravity field. Instead of the expected bouncy environment, there was no gravity entirely. The result was seeing the group of players rocketing up and down in midair resulting in most dying.
And then there was the seventh event added by Epic Games when there were only six originally set. Most were caught by surprise but such was seen as something to alleviate the sudden change implementation at the Mystery Cube.
Regardless, critics feel that MorgausseTV remained the hands-down choice to win it all even if he had won the seventh event or not. He did get three points from it, adding more leverage as he continues to boost his stock.
The ‘Fortnite’ Summer Skirmish event was an apparent success although there are improvements that can still be done. This includes fine-tuning the end of the fights and properly defining how a player could win a game. It also lacked the proper recognition of the grand winner, an honor due to MorgausseTV and future winners. Regardless, Epic Games is expected to continue to work on these flaws and further improve events moving forward.
The top five winners in the Week 8 Final standings were MorgausseTV ($225,000) Ghost Bizzle ($180,000), Liquid Poach ($135,000), Nate Hill ($120,000) and Tendons ($105,000), Bleacher Report said.
