Apple will reportedly release a new batch of MacBook units, budget-friendly notebooks that most would be interested in. Considering that the Cupertino company has not refreshed variants such as the 13-inch MacBook Air or even the Mac Mini, lower prices have thrown most into thinking.

At the top of it all is the price. Apple has been known to offer expensive MacBooks carrying the latest features. Would a cheaper MacBook include low-end or stricken out features? Assuming that the specs would still be the same, would these be outdated?

These low-cost MacBooks are more than likely to shelve some advanced features, a prime reason why Apple would be pricing them as such. It doesn’t take rocket science to figure that out and most are expecting the same. Looking ahead, potential buyers will need to be open in seeing some popular features like displays or even lesser ports hooked up to it. CNBC said that one feature likely to be affected is the display although reports have it that the Retina display will remain. Traditionally, a different display has helped bring the prices below $1,000.

According to Bloomberg, the planned laptop is most likely to be similar to the current MacBook Air. This may hint at seeing a device with thinner bezels and likely to still be at 13-inches. The new MacBook Air will reportedly be geared to customers looking for a cheaper mobile solution and targeted at schools who are looking to buy in bulk.

Aside from the display, it is more of the internal components. Likely to be priced below $1,000, would this not be a compromised solution that would push some to add a couple of more bucks and get the regular models? Apple is unlikely to do such as they try to assemble an acceptable circle of features that would make the next MacBook acceptable. Seeing how they are also trying to jack up sales, the budget-friendly laptop is keeping most consumers on its feet.

Aside from that, there is also the Mac Mini Pro to consider. Like the low-cost MacBook, details have been scarce on what this device would have to offer. Expected to be a whole lot cheaper, the device hasn’t been refreshed since 2014. It was originally priced at $499 although most expect it to cost a whole lot more once it does come out.

The new Macs are expected to be unveiled in the fall alongside the new batch of iPhones, Apple Watches, and iPad Pros.
