Smartphone lovers have recently been excited and restless with the upcoming surprise of Mi Mix 3. The handset which has been confirmed to debut sometime n the next month has now been teased by an official source. The most exciting part of this teaser, which was released on Twitter, is that Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 will hold 5G connectivity capabilities.

According to a report by Android Police, Xiaomi released a certain number of renders about Mi Mix 3, just a week before, which revealed much about the handset's expected features. Now a new image was revealed by Xiaomi's Director of Product Management, Donovan Sung. Sung released a picture of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 through his official Twitter handle on September 3. The image showcased the smartphone's front end and how will it actually its main menu interface will look like as a bezel-less handset.

Apart from releasing the first ever official image of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, he also confirmed that the smartphone will support 5G connectivity. In his tweet, he briefed: "We've successfully tested 5G data connections on Xiaomi phones, and we can't wait for the official rollout of 5G next year!" Also, he added some particular details about 5G speed as compared to existing 4G connectivity. He stated: "5G download speeds are more than 10X faster than 4G speeds. What's everyone looking forward to the most?"

This above tweet was retweeted at 5.06 AM on September 3, 2018, with the original image tweet which Sung posted on the same date roughly two hours before at 3.20 AM. This made it clear that Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 will operate on 5G Sim cards as well. Android Central also pointed out a 5G connectivity tick on the top right corner of the front-end interface of the smartphone.

However, potential sources which are aware of this update recently stated that Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 may not be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 845 SoC. As Qualcomm still has not managed to draw a processor with 5G capabilities, thus Xiaomi is expected to move to some other chipset maker for the processor of Mi Mix 3.

Speculators have also started buzzing around that Xiaomi may be planning for a higher variant of 5G supported Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 to be released in next year, as tweeted by Sung, and the company will only release one or two base models of the smartphone this year. The clouds of doubt can only be cleared as soon as Xiaomi releases an official update on this.
