Samsung uses to launch a flip handset for its smartphone fans in China. This year's flip sensation is expected to release within some days or weeks. The upcoming phone is said to be dubbed as W2019, following the trend of its last year's masterpiece: W2018. A new insight released by potential sources suggest that the smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 845 processor.

Snapdragon 845 chipset is the most advanced memory chip in the market, released by Qualcomm, to date. The chipset setup has already made Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9, two of the most attractive smartphones in the industry. Samsung is also said to opt for this same processor for its upcoming China release: possibly named as W2019. According to Ubergizmo, the next-gen premium flip smartphone would be the successor to Samsung's China exclusive flip handset segment: 'W-Series.' The source even stated that this phone will be called as W2019, keeping up with the trend of its predecessor: W2018.

The insight that W2019 will boast a Snapdragon 845 chipset was revealed by XDA-Developers, who dug through a new kernel source code, having the reference of a handset codenamed 'lykan'. According to the source's research team, the code had two files named after lykan. It should be noted in this context that a majority of sources have already surfaced multiple pieces of evidence of Samsung's next W-series flip phone to be internally codenamed as lykan. After this revelation, many tech specialists and smartphone analysts have already started suspecting that two files, hidden inside the kernel source code, are of the two variants of the upcoming W-Series flip smartphones.

Samsung authorities remained silent in the mid of such speculations. There are also traces of Samsung's traditional steps which can be taken in considerations for W2019 to be Snapdragon 845 equipped. Notably, Samsung's last edition of W-Series smartphones: W2018 was powered by Snapdragon 835 processor which was also seen on Galaxy S8. So, if Samsung follows the same manner it will boast Snapdragon 845 chipset on its next W2019 handset, as it has Samsung Galaxy S9 is powered by Qualcomm latest chipset only.

All other features and specifications of the upcoming W-Series handset is still a mystery. Samsung is expected to sell the smartphone at a mid-range price tag, as it did with the previous model. However, if the claims of two separate variants are true, then buyers can expect a high-priced W2019 handset as well.
