After rounding up a breathtaking success over the smartphone world, Google is now looking forward to positioning itself as the successor in the universe of vehicles as well. However, the company wouldn't produce any cars, but it will boast media displays run by Android OS on a wide range of vehicles. Google just signed an agreement to make media devices for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance, which is known as the largest vehicle producers in the world.
According to The Verge, Google's Alphabet Inc. joined hands with Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance to produce digital media systems for all the Alliance-branded cars and other vehicles. The next-gen media system for vehicles will use Google Maps for navigation of routes, Google Assistant for voice-based command alongside Google Play Store for the purpose of entertainment inside the car. The global vice president of Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi's connected vehicles: Kal Mos stated: "In the future, the Google Assistant, which employs Google's leading AI technology, can become the main way customers interact with their vehicles, hands-free."
Hadi Zablit, the chief of business development at Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance stated in this context: "Our ambition is to offer the same customer experience inside the car as on a mobile phone," "It is becoming an important feature when people choose their cars. It's a competitive advantage," he concluded. Google, alongside its partner: Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance confirmed that the digital media system will make its official debut in 2021 and it will be equipped in almost all types of vehicles manufactured by the alliance, no matter if it is a high-priced or a mid-range car.
Engadget further quoted that this technology may be used by other well-known ca manufacturer as well. Google's Artificial Intelligence-based Assistant, if equipped in a car, will possibly give interactive and accurate results of roadmaps with weather sensing capability and well-defined navigation techniques. This will work as a great advantage for the drivers as well as the riders. Additionally, the access of Google Play Store in ca will provide an enormous range of entertainment options for the riders, including music, videos, games, movies, books, and many other contents. This will definitely make the ride more impressive.
Besides these experts and car & vehicle analysts have also started suspecting that Google may soon be approaching other popular car makers as well, for installing the next-gen Android driven digital media system in their vehicles as well. Volkswagen, Tesla etc. take the top spot in this list of expectation. However, it can only be confirmed when Google states anything about this development.
