After months of speculations, Nintendo Switch Online service is finally making its way to kill PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live. The service went live on September 18, late evening. Nintendo Switch Online Service has been packed with a range of Nintendo Classic Titles. The online service made its official debut on Nintendo systems in North America, Europe, and Japan.
According to Gadget360, Nintendo Switch Online Service launched with an update 6.0.0 and "a few hours of standard maintenance" on all Nintendo Systems. The service, however, is not free. Nintendo has set a price tag of USD 3.99 for a single month of subscription of Nintendo Switch Online Service and for 3 months, Switch Online Service is available at USD 7.99. Nintendo is also reportedly offering 7-day free trial of Nintendo Switch Online for Nintendo accounts holders in the above-mentioned territories of Nintendo.
Cnet quoted that the yearly subscription of Nintendo Switch Online Services is available at a one-time payment of USD 19.99. The new online service will enable users to play the multiplayer modes of famous Nintendo original series such as Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 etc. over the internet. They can also arrange tournaments with foreign players with any titles of their choice, as per reports.
Nintendo has also added a range of Nintendo Classic titles which will be exclusively available with Nintendo Switch Online service. The titles under this list are: Soccer, Tennis, Donkey Kong, Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros, Balloon Fight, Ice Climber, Dr. Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 3, Double Dragon, River City Ransom, Ghosts' n Goblins, Tecmo Bowl, Gradius, Pro Wrestling, Excitebike, Yoshi, Ice Hockey and Baseball.
Nintendo has added the list of these 20 games as a pre-loaded gift to Nintendo Switch Online Service subscribers, for now. The company, however, added that it will bring numerous new titles to the Online Service one by one throughout the next coming months. Potential sources even reported that titles like Solomon's Key, NES Open Tournament Golf, and Super Dodge Ball have been lined up for October release.
Metroid, Mighty Bomb Jack, and TwinBee will see their grand release on Nintendo Switch online service in November this year. The December launch list of titles for Nintendo Switch Online service includes Wario Woods, Ninja Gaiden, and Adventures of Lolo. The 2019 list of games for the online service of Nintendo will be announced by the company at a later part.
