Xiaomi has had launched its next-gen smartphones: Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer back in May this year.  Both the handsets started selling in its home region: China from that timeline. Now the company officially unveiled another advancement to this lineup, dubbed as Mi 8 Lite, in China. As the name suggests, the Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite is a lite version of the existing Xiaomi Mi 8 with a big display.

According to 91Mobiles, Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite comes with a notch above the screen based fully HD display. The display has been sized at 6.26-inch alongside an aspect ratio of 19.5:9  based on a 2.5D curved glass on top, which is a bit greater than that of Xiaomi Mi 8 as per potential sources. Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 660 chipset. The smartphone comes with connectivity options like 4G LTE and VoLTE with Bluetooth and WiFi support.

The handset boasts dual sim slots for offering superlative and flawless connection. Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite runs on the latest edition of MIUI based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The smartphone comes with three memory based variations.

India Today quoted that the primary edition of Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite holds 4GB RAM support coupled with a 64GB  internal hard disk space. The mid-range variant of the same boasts 6GB RAM attached with 64GB of storage memory and finally, the highest-end edition comes with an 8GB RAM along with 128GB of internal storage area.

The camera department of the handset, thrills with a spectacular 24 MP selfie snapper. It joins hand with another dual rear camera setup. The back snapper combo holds a 12 MP lens as the primary one, which is accompanied by another 5 MP rear shooter. Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite comes with a 3,350 mAh battery for long-lasting power backup.

Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite comes with mid-range price tags. The base 4GB RAM+64GB Memory variant is selling at RMB 1,399. While the 6GB RAM+64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM+128GB memory-based models are being offered for RMB 1,699 and RMB 1,999 respectively.

The smartphone is currently offered in three color variants. These are Aurora Blue, Sunset Gold, and Midnight Black. Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite is currently trading in the company's base market of China and neighboring nation: India only. But, according to experts and smartphone analysts, the smartphone will possibly have a global release very soon as well. Potential sources have even speculated that Xiaomi will launch Mi 8 Lite by the last phase of this year.
