Nvidia announced its next-gen GeForce RTX 20 Series back in Gamescom 2018. Since then the world of gaming is buzzing around the upcoming graphics stunners of the company. Perhaps the most teased among all are the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 & RTX 2080 Ti, both of which feature the 'future' of gaming.
According to PC World, Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti are loaded with next level advancements for a real-time gaming experience. Both the cards are equipped with dedicated RT cores. These cores are enough to offer real-time ray tracing performance for high-level online titles.
In addition, GeForce RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti boast dedicated tensor cores, which makes both the cards capable of machine learning alongside the support of Saturn V Supercomputing. Apart from these attributes, both the graphics stunners are the only cards to hold GDDR6 memory, which is also known as 'VirtualLink' connectors.
AnandTech dug deep to list down all the essential specifications of Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti Founders Edition. In brief, Nvidia 2080 comes with 2944 CUDA cores clocked at 1515MHz. While the higher variant: 2080 Ti brings 4352 CUDA cores clocked at 1350MHz.
The memory clock for the basic 2080 card as well as the top-edged 2080 Ti reads at 14 Gb per second. RTX 2080 Ti uses a VRAM of 11GB, whereas, RTX 2080 runs on a VRAM capacity of 8GB. GPU precession used by RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti are TU104 and TU102 respectively. The features are similar in certain cases whereas the capability generated by both the cards are majorly different.
Besides major specifications, Nvidia has also set different dates for the official release of GeForce RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti. The lower variant made its market debut on September 20, 2018. Whereas, the higher-end edition will see its official unveiling on September 27, 2018.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Founders Edition is selling at USD 1,199. The superlative variant: GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition has been price tagged at USD 799. According to potential sources, Nvidia has activated the Pre-order window for both 2080 and 2080 Ti graphics cards. However, users may get their copies of both the variants after some time from now, as Nvidia may reportedly start the shipping process for the same lately.
