Facebook has always been a bit more modern in terms of its social reach. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of the most admired social media destination, has had announced a next-gen dating service by Facebook in May, this year, on the occasion of the F8 Developers Conference. The feature is finally made its way In Colombia for the first time. 

According to Daily Mail, the social media giant announced the inauguration of Facebook Dating as a test feature which is currently limited to Colombia only. The company opted for the region as the first zone for testing the attribute as according to the company, Colombia has the base of nearly 30 million regular Facebook users, most of which are youngsters. Facebook Dating also works in a different manner than the traditional dating apps like Tinder and Bumble in many aspects.

CNBC noted that unlike the pre-existing dating apps, Facebook Dating doesn't use any Swipe Up option for finding out the best-sorted matches. The service uses an innovative algorithm which enables the users to find out romantic matches on the basis of the information available on Facebook about them. The romantic match finding can be made based on the matching of bio and information about workplaces, education, religion, height and the number of children a user may have. This means that the persons in the similar profession can also receive recommendations for dating from Facebook's end.

While describing the feature in brief to press, Facebook's dating product manager Nathan Sharp stated: "We wanted to make a product that encouraged people to remember that there are people behind the profiles and the cards that they're seeing. We wanted a system that emphasizes consideration over impulse. We want you to consider more than that person's profile photo."  Reports further suggested that Facebook Dating also sends recommendations to those who are within a distance of 100 kilometers from each other. A user having opted for Facebook Dating can upload up to 12 photos and can ask up to 20 basic questions to other recommended users.

Besides all these Facebook Dating holds tight terms on privacy and security as well. Users are not allowed to stoke anybody without their consent. A user can not follow someone, who hasn't responded to him or her. The users aren't even allowed to share pictures of their own to others via messages. Facebook is expected is also expected to launch the service in other regions based on legal rights and authorization of various places.
