"Grand Theft Auto 6" remains one of the most highly-anticipated game titles amongst many players today. As of now, what we have are but rumors about the game, but should these rumors prove true, it's going to be a great title.

Though Rockstar hasn't announced a tentative release window for GTA 6, what remains is that it's a confirmed title that will come out sometime in the future, Expert Reviews reported. Rumors suggested a 2019 release, especially after gamers saw an in-game "message" saying so. It's very unlikely, though, and both Rockstar and experts can attest to that.

Rockstar itself said that message is a hoax. It's not an official statement, but is a misleading and fake message being spread through the use of mods.

Games industry analyst Michael Pachter told Gamingbolt in an interview that he expects the game to be out after 2022. He said that based on Rockstar's track record of announcing game releases, the "best case" scenario would be Rockstar announcing GTA 6 in 2020, then releasing the official game in 2021. It's more likely, however, that the game will see a 2022 release date.

That might sound like bad news to GTA fans, but since Rockstar is busy working on "Red Dead Redemption 2," it's quite logical to expect a later release. After all, Rockstar provided years of support for "GTA 5," particularly its online component "GTA Online." RDR2 will have an online component, "Red Dead Online," and players should expect that the game devs will focus on providing support for that too, before jumping to another GTA title.

Some rumors say that GTA 6 might be a title designed for next-gen consoles, namely the PlayStation 5 and a new Xbox. Well, that rumor is likely wrong. According to YouTuber MrBossFTW, Rockstar initially released GTA 5 for the PS3 and Xbox 360 despite the impending release of the PS4 and Xbox One a short while later.

That gave the title a wider audience, and helped build its fanbase. Rockstar is likely to follow that same pattern, and will provide support to allow more people to play the game in various consoles.

Some other rumors suggest a variety of things related to the game, such as the introduction of a playable female protagonist, gameplay locations set in a different country or time period, as well as the option to work with police officers. These are but rumors that hold no water, though the thought may be cool or exciting.

Take note, these are but rumors, so take them with a grain of salt. Rockstar hasn't announced anything about GTA 6 yet, so fans are advised to slow down and enjoy Red Dead Redemption 2 when it comes out real soon instead.
