Nintendo has already generated superlative buzz among gamers with its Switch console, all around. The company is now reported to plan a step ahead for the future of its highly-anticipated console. The latest insight suggests that Nintendo will possibly launch a new edition of Switch in 2019. Although the exact date and time for the same still remain a mystery.

The Wall Street Journal was the primary source to clinch this inner buzz. According to the report, the blueprint of the plan is still in making and it has been derived "according to suppliers and others with direct knowledge of the plan."

The next edition of Nintendo Switch may receive some hardware revamps as well as quoted: "The current Switch uses a lower-end liquid-crystal display without some technologies that are standard in more recent smartphone LCDs," "Updating the display with these technologies would make it brighter, thinner and more energy-efficient. The updated Switch isn't expected to adopt the organic light-emitting diode or OLED panels used in Apple Inc.'s iPhone X series."

However, as per the source, Nintendo's upcoming Switch console is "likely share many features with the current version and be compatible with existing Switch game software." The company is still reportedly debating over the new developments.

As per Polygon, Nintendo has already sold over 20 million units of Switch consoles globally since its primary re-launch in January 2017 and till the month of June, this year. Nintendo's creative executive: Shigeru Miyamoto said during a financial briefing earlier this year, "The biggest attraction of Nintendo Switch is that the console can be carried around and used easily for competitive gameplay via local wireless connection."

"If consumers come to take it for granted that everybody has a Nintendo Switch, then we can create new and very Nintendo genres of play, and Nintendo Switch can have a life apart from smart devices and other video game systems. Expanding the Nintendo Switch world this way is a means of eliminating risk."

The company might be looking forward to keeping its console with those of its potential rivals altogether. It should be noted in this context that Nintendo has already debuted its online service recently, which was enough to beat PlayStation Online and Xbox's Online services altogether. Therefore, the next-gen Nintendo Switch is expected to be a great update to the earlier consoles for the gaming geeks. The new Switch console is rumored to launch by the first phase of the next year.
