Most people know how to flirt, but some are doing it in a wrong way which gives them a bad impression. Flirting is like an unspoken language wherein men and women understood it worldwide.

Flirting is part of human nature as it helps an individual to lift self-esteem and boost self-confidence. Those who know how to flirt find it enjoyable because it gives them the validation they need. Relationship experts said playful and gentle flirting outside of a romantic relationship could be healthy and harmless as long as you know your boundaries.

Sara Tang, a sex educator and the founder of Sarasense, revealed why flirting is beneficial in our emotional and physical well-being. She explained it's like a social communication when done properly, making a positive connection with people.

If you want to get a positive outcome, it is important to set parameters to make flirting clean and healthy, as per the South China Morning Post. You need to understand several social contexts and read cues to find out whether you're flirting ways are acceptable or not - meaning the recipient should be willing.

Tang also answered the question of how to find out if someone is a natural flirt, saying they are those who are great communicators and confident. Typically, these people can start a conversation easily which means they know what to say and how to make other people around them feel good.

The requirement of being a good flirt is to enjoy every interaction, and not taking it too seriously. Tang pointed out that if both participants are willing to flirt, their interaction might lead them into falling in love.

Flirting is also beneficial for couples who have been in a long-term relationship as it could be a powerful weapon to fire up their love once again. Flirting could recapture the playfulness once they had when they are still on the courting stage, Tang said.

But if you want to flirt outside of your relationship, she advised: "do not direct your flirting exclusively to a specific target as that may raise questions and create misunderstanding with your partner".

It's still important to remember that not all flirting is done to develop a sexual or romantic relationship as some people thinks flirting is a form of cheating.

"If you're flirting because there's an intention to have an intimate relationship with another person, hide something, or deliberately harm your partner (i.e. make them jealous), then that's when cheating and betrayal can occur," Tang said.
