Each and every year, Samsung releases a flip phone exclusively for its Chinese fans. This time it isn't different as well as the company is getting set to release its next flip model, indexed as SM-W2019. As the earlier edition was dubbed as W2018, the next variant is popularly known as W2019. The smartphone's expected lineup of specs and features were revealed as it appeared on the Chinese listing of TENAA.
According to GSMArena, Samsung's W2019 will come with 4.2-inch AMOLED made display screens. The smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's most advanced Snapdragon 845 chipset. It should be noted that the earlier flip phone: W2018 held Exynos 9810 processor, so, it is a huge advancement for Samsung W2019 to have the latest and top-class processing unit.
The handset will reportedly pack the same dual-camera setup which can be witnessed in Galaxy Note 9 and S9+ smartphones. Besides the processor, Samsung is also said to boast a big advancement in terms of power backup.
As per a report by SamMobile, Samsung W2018 had a battery capacity of 2300 mAh. But the latest W2019 will have a revamped and highly powerful 3000 mAh battery, which is capable o extended battery life than ordinary.
The handset is said to hold notched edges. Samsung W2019 will possibly be slick and stylish. Whether the smartphone will be released in multiple colours or not is still an unanswered question. Although, Samsung is expected to maintain its tradition by keeping it in single colour only. The handset will have the same telephone-style keypad as that of the existing W2018.
Samsung W2019 is rumoured to run on Android 8.1. Although, many of the smartphone experts and analysts have even expected that Samsung may leave some room in the handset for an update of Android 9 Pie. However, it can only be clarified if Samsung authorities convey any message or official statement on the same. The handset will only be available in China.
Samsung W2019 will come with a big price tag as well with the bigger specs list. As per reports of the potential sources, the W2019 will be marketed at a price range around CNY 17,000, which is nearly USD 2,100. Samsung is expected to announce W2019 sometime by the end of October or at the beginning of November, this year. The shipments for the same may start at the beginning phase of 2019.
