The much-awaited release of the Huawei Mate 20 series has finally come, two new flagships oozing with features that position them way ahead of their Android rivals. The Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro debuted with features that have been shown in rumors, ones that won’t be available from other phones for at least the next five months.
On one end is the Huawei Mate 20 sporting a 6.5-inch LCD display (2960x1440 resolution) display and powered by a Kirin 980 processor, the first Huawei chipset to 7nm architecture. Other features for the Huawei Mate 20 include a choice of either a 4 or 6 GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128 GB of internal storage (expandable up to 256 GB) and a 4,000 mAh battery.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro carries practically similar specs than the Mate 20. The only difference is that it will have a slightly smaller 6.4-inch OLED display (3120x1440 resolution), 6 or 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM options and a 4,200 mAh battery.
One of the publicized features that mobile phone buyers are eager to try out is the triple-camera setup the Huawei Mate 20 series will be having. Of the two, the Mate 20 Pro will have the better triple-lens camera (40 MP + 20 MP + 8 MP telephoto lenses). The Huawei Mate 20 comes with a 16 MP + 12 MP + 8 MP), Tech Radar said.
Both phones come with a 24 MP front-facing camera, more than enough for folks who love taking selfies. Alongside that are the components that enable the 3D Face Unlock, 3D Live Emoji, and 3D object scanning. The Huawei Mate 20 series handsets come with Android 9.0 Pie with Huawei’s EMUI 9.0 on top of it.
With so many features to go by, the Huawei Mate 20 series is undoubtedly one of the better alternatives for folks who are looking for a cost-efficient device. The 4 GB model of the Huawei Mate 20 costs about $927 while the 6 GB version retails for $985 a pop.
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro, on the other hand, is priced at $1,217. Comparing its price with Apple’s iPhone XS, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is undoubtedly cheaper with better specs, BGR said.
Without question, the Huawei Mate 20 or the Huawei Mate 20 Pro are tempting new phones to consider in the market. Pricing may remain a concern but the specs that both handset come with more than justify all that.
Another fact to consider is that these devices come with technology that other smartphone manufacturers have yet to employ. By the time rival companies catch up, Huawei may have yet another clan of handsets to offer the mobile phone consumer market.
