Xiaomi's sub associate firm: Poco has already created wonders among smartphone fans. The company's latest Pocophone F1 has surprised many with its extraordinary features. Despite being a mid-range handset, it holds superlative specs and conveys top class performance. Another spectacular software is coming to the smartphone as per the latest update by Poco's senior executive. Pocophone F1 is about to receive at least Android Pie or Android Q.
According to the latest report by 9to5Google, while reverting back to a suggestion posted by fan, Poco's Head of Products: Jai Mani stated that Pocophone F1 will "at least" receive Android P or Android Q. The insight appeared on Mani's official Twitter handle where the fan ( @ReddyMandli) stated: "Pls be committed to give us atleast two android version updates ....Because we love poco ...." While answering to his comment Mani said: "We'll do at least P and Q..." Pocophone F1 was officially released on August 30, this year. Since it unveiling, the phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.
Though, as per potential sources such as GSMArena, internal testing for Android Pie was going on over the same Pocophone F1. But the company authority never declared any update about whether it will see a beta program or the full version of the latest version of Android OS.
Speaking about Android Q, it is still in the seed mode currently and it is likely to be officially announced by the month of August or September, next year. The latest insight from the source only suggested that Pocophone F1 has started receiving beta updates of Android 9.0 Pie from yesterday. Although, only a limited number of the users of the phone are likely to receive this beta update, as per reports.
Pocophone F1 boasts an enormous range of high-end attributes. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's most powerful chipset till date: Snapdragon 845 SoC. This means that processing and running an updated OS software won't be a big issue for the handset, provided that it has a greater memory support.
Poco is also reportedly willing to enhance its memory space. The latest insight suggested that the company is "actively encouraging" the development of custom ROM for the F1 smartphone. Whether the planned extension of ROM is solely meant for a system update or anything else, is still a question to be answered by the Poco authority. With the appearance of Beta program, Pocophone F1 users can expect to see Android Pie on their handsets soon.
