Xiaomi has been surprising its fans throughout this year with a great number of gifts. It has already launched a numerous range of mid-ranged smartphones equipped with top class features. The year is coming to an end soon, but the company still seems to have a lineup of surprises left for its fans. Among these, Xiaomi's next year's flagship is also about to stun the smartphone lovers, as it will boast Qualcomm's upcoming high-powered processor: Snapdragon 8150 SoC.

According to a report by GizmoChina, Xiaomi's next-gen 2019 handset made its first appearance on the web today. The source also clinched insights from the company's supply chain partners that the Mi 9 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8150 chipset. The processor was earlier thought to be named after the existing 845 SoC, as Snapdragon 855. But due to certain unknown reasons ( at least for now), Qualcomm has named it as Snapdragon 8150 SoC.

As per BGR, Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8150 SoC is still in the development stages. If we look back to the company's records, Qualcomm officially launched its powerhouse Snapdragon 845 chipset back in March, this year. If the supreme chip maker giant follows the tradition, Snapdragon 8150 SoC will go live by the end of first quarter of 2019. Therefore, Xiaomi fans can expect to see the Mi 9 handsets in the retail stores and e-commerce sites, sometime before the end of the first phase of the next year. However, Xiaomi has not spelt any words on this matter.

Xiaomi Mi 9 will boast triple rear snappers, as per potential sources. The primary camera will have a   revolutionary 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 lens. This will ensure superlative enlargement in case of Smartphone photography. The display is rumoured to be made up of AMOLED panels. Mi 9 is expected to be launched in three memory based variants. The lower-end one will boast a 6GB RAM while the mid-range variant will have 8GB of RAM support. The highest edition of Mi 9 is said to feature a hovering 10GB RAM for a spectacular memory support.

Xiaomi celebrated its 8th anniversary back in May this year with the launch of Mi 8 series smartphones. The company is expected to do the same with Mi 9 branded handsets on the occasion of its 9th anniversary in 2019. The top-end variant of the same may also support 5G connectivity, although Xiaomi has confirmed anything about it. The price range of Mi 9 series handsets is a mystery for now.
