Google has already taken over lots of admirations with its latest range of handsets namely Pixel 3 and 3 XL. Both the smartphones are out now. However, the latest insight now hints that two other handsets are in the making and these may debut soon. Codenamed as 'Bonito' and 'Sargo,' the phones are probably not the fourth generation variants of Google smartphones, but the mid-range handsets in the Pixel 3 lineup only.
According to Android Police, both 'Bonito' and 'Sargo' appeared for the first time in the APK Teardown of ARCore update version 1.5. As per the source: "Teardowns are based on evidence found inside of apks (Android's application package) and are necessarily speculative and usually based on incomplete information. It's possible that the guesses made here are wrong or inaccurate. Even when predictions are correct, there is always a chance that products could change or may be cancelled. Much like rumours, nothing is certain until it's officially announced and released."
Google has traditionally used the names of various fishes to denote its handsets in the making, as per a report by TechRadar. Therefore, these 'Bonito' and 'Sargo' are most likely to be the names of fish. But whether it is the name of a single fish or not is a mystery. If this speculation is true at any point, then Google might be pushing forward the manufacturing of a single phone with two codenames.
Well, 'Bonito' is not absolutely new to the smartphone experts. Back in June this year, well-known smartphone tipster cum leaker Roland Quandt posted in a tweet that Google is working on a smartphone codenamed 'Bonito.' Quandt also tipped certain details about the handset including its expected processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC. It has been said to be marketed as a mid-range Android handset.
'Sargo' is the brand new name leaked from the reliable sources. Smartphone experts and specialists have even started believing that, as Google is traditionally habituated to complement a low-range handset with a relatively higher one, 'Sargo' will be the lower-end variant of the same lineup. According to Quandt's claims, both the handsets, codenamed as 'Bonito' and 'Sargo' are expected to release in the mid of the first phase of 2019. Although, none of the potential sources, as well as any of the official ones, have been able to determine any particular timeline for both the handsets official release in the next year.
