A new rumor from a trusted source suggested that the new AirPods by Apple are slated to be released before the year ends. AirPods were first introduced in September 2016 alongside the iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series 2. The wireless Bluetooth earbuds were then made available to order online in December 2016.
According to BGR, Apple insider Ming-Chi Kuo said a few weeks ago that Apple is set to launch the AirPods 2 in late 2018 or early 2019, but that first option appears to be the gem as an insider recently claimed that the earbuds will be out this year. Samsung insider Ice Universe (@UniverseIce) wrote on Twitter on November 12 that Apple will "definitely" release the new AirPods this year.
The insider is famous with his notorious Samsung rumors, and his recent revelation might just happen although the details of the AirPods 2 release remain under the wraps. The Bluetooth earbuds have been one of the tech giant's most in demand products, and it is not a surprise that users are thrilled with the imminent release of the AirPods 2.
The AirPods alongside the iPhone and Apple Watch can be charged wirelessly through the AirPower wireless charger, the company's newest invention. However, there is still no news about the wireless charger's release, but if AirPods 2 will soon hit the market, it means that the AirPower launch will follow.
Apple though remains tight lip about it, but as Ice Universe's recent revelation, it's not a surprise that the tech giant will be releasing its newest bombshell device for all users. The AirPods have been such a hit that the company ran out of stock in the market in October 2018 and although Apple restocks the first-gen AirPods, it still doesn't stop speculations that the AirPods 2 will be out in the market anytime soon.
Previous reports suggested that the AirPods 2 have passed the certification process of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), which means that the audio accessory is coming. It is said that the upgrade will have a better range and battery life although the design will be retained.
The advanced AirPods 2 will reportedly come with wellness and biometric sensors despite reports that the built will remain the same. It is also said that the upgrade will be water-resistant with a new audio chip that will work even better with Apple's digital assistant, Siri.
When removed from the charging case, the AirPods automatically turn on and connect to the iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, or Mac. The music or audio automatically plays once worn in the ears.
