The 2020 Toyota Corolla teased with photos earlier this week. However, it appears to have become an executive saloon wannabe with its new look. Its new face is reminiscent of a Maserati Quattroporte with a quick glance.
Power
It is expected to have around 168 hp, with a four-cylinder 2.0-liter engine which isn't really impressive. That will make it more powerful though than its predecessor the 2019 Toyota Corolla with only 132 hp, and 1.8-liter engine.
It is still available with a six-speed manual transmission, which also boasts of an automatic rev machine for down shifts. To live up to the hype it at least should beat the hatchback's fast gear start-up
Improved Handling Platform
Thanks to Toyota's improved international platform, which now boasts of an impressive firm suspension and steering. That's already ahead of the 2019 Toyota Corolla.
Fans are also looking forward that it will inherit the 2019 Toyota Corolla's multi link rear suspension option. Fingers are crossed for this one.
A Maserati Quattroporte Wannabe?
Let's be honest the photos released to make it appear like the world's most loved sedan is set to become a wannabe. It's alleged new design could be mistaken for Maserati's Quattroporte at a quick glance.
Or perhaps the Japanese carmaker is looking at its Italian counterparts for inspiration? However, they should at least update the interiors for the upcoming 2020 Toyota Corolla sedan. If they truly want to give it a make over.
Same Old Multimedia System
There's isn't anything exciting to be discussed about in this aspect. It has the usual 8-inch monitor. It still sports the same graphics. Apple CarPlay was finally made available in the 2019 version of the corolla, hence it is also expected for the upcoming version in 2020.
The rest remain the same and so-so except for its dual-zone climate management systems' new set of controls. And that's just about it here.
Does it still offer value for your money?
Its price tag remains at an affordable at around $24,400. And there is still no EV version available for this version. The Japanese carmaker hasn't made any plans or announcements on whether it will go the Prius' route.
The Toyota Corolla hasn't failed its patrons for almost two decades. However, perhaps it is best to go towards the green path?
The Tesla Model 3 has an uncanny resemblance to its old design. And perhaps it could be too late for the Corolla once is it launched as an EV.
