VITAMIN B1/ THIAMINE

According to studies, type 2 diabetics have 75% lower thiamine levels as compared to healthy ones. Since the nutrient present in their body is too low, it is a must to supply the body with more. Doing so can help their body burn more carbohydrates and convert it to glucose, which the body uses for energy.

VITAMIN C/ ASCORBIC ACID

VITAMIN E

Its effects are almost the same with vitamin C. Both are antioxidants, which can help fight free radicals, make the skin look young, and organs healthy. It may even reduce the risks of complications in the heart.

ZINC

Zinc can do so much in the body. It is the mineral that could help make the body stronger. It could be also a good supplement to take especially in controlling one's glucose as it can increase insulin rates, according to Diabetes Self-Management.

BIOTIN

By taking this supplement, the body's ability to stabilize blood sugar will increase if taken with chromium. Though it is not commonly found in regular multivitamins, some food has enough biotin in it, which can already be beneficial to the body. These foods include liver and meat, egg yolks, yeast, salmon, nuts, avocados, and sweet potatoes.

Other supplements that diabetics must take are Chromium, Vanadium, Alpha lipoic acid, and Manganese.
