HMD Global has already made its mark in the smartphone industry with its Nokia branded products. The company is looking forward to clinching its victory over the huge smartphone market of South-East Asia. The company has already launched its newest Nokia X7 handset in China. Now, the smartphone will be making its way to India as well and it will reportedly be dubbed as Nokia 8.1. 

According to 91mobiles, HMD Global's next advancement to Nokia lineup will not be named as Nokia 7.1. It will be called as Nokia 8.1, in India. The smartphone will boast an extraordinary range of specs. If we consider Nokia X7 to be renamed as Nokia 8.1 in India, then the handset will sport a 6.18-inch Full HD+ LCD display with highest possible resolution at 2246×1080 pixels and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. at the front end.

The handset will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 710 processor clocked at 2.2GHz with eight Kryo 360 cores. As for the camera department, Nokia 8.1 will boast dual snappers in its rear end. The primary shooter holds a 12-MP lens coupled with another secondary 13-MP sensor. The rear snapper will be an AI-enabled camera with optical image stabilization attribute for the same.

As for the selfie clicker, Nokia 8.1 will sport a 20-MP AI sensor at the front end. The smartphone will possibly be launched in three memory variants. As per the latest report by Livemint, the primary edition of Nokia 8.1 will come with 4GB RAM alongside 64GB of internal memory.

The secondary version of the same will boast a 6GB RAM coupled with 64GB storage space and the highest-end variant will have 6GB RAM support along with a 128GB internal storage. HMD Global has revealed anything officially about the price range of the handsets. But as Nokia X7 is selling at 1699 Yuan in China which is equivalent to INR 18000, one can expect this as the starting range of Nokia 8.1.

Other potential sources have tipped that Nokia 8.1 will be price tagged at INR 23,999. The smartphone will be run on Android One based on Android 8 Oreo. As for the power back up, all the variants of the handset is expected to come with a 3,500mAh battery which will support 18W fast-charging and day-long battery life. The launch of the handset in the Indian markets is expected to be held on November 28. Nokia 8.1 is rumored to go on sale from the first week of December only.
