Samsung may be thrilling the smartphone community with its latest foldable phone but despite the new gimmicks, the tech giant's evergreen product line is just as anticipated as ever. With the Galaxy S10 expected to make its debut sometime next year, people are wondering if the smartphone manufacturer is ready to let bezels die.
According to BGR (via Korean tech site TheElec), Samsung's Galaxy S10 will have a zero-bezel OLED screen. Galaxy S10 fans can potentially expect two holes housing the camera and infrared sensor where one would expect to have the top screen bezel while the rest of the sensors will be housed underneath the more spacious screen.
Considering the placement of the camera and infrared sensor holes, BGR notes that Samsung is developing a better user interface for the Galaxy S10. The new Galaxy S10 interface will ensure that the status icons and notifications will mesh seamlessly with the two holes' presence.
With Samsung ready to answer the smartphone community's hatred for screen bezels, a new way of manufacturing the Galaxy S10 screen that consumers want. According to the publication, manufacturing the new screens for the Galaxy S10 is more problematic compared to the old method of simply creating bezels for the cameras and sensors to nest.
This means that Samsung has to drill through the supposedly new Galaxy S10 screens using diode-pumped solid-state lasers. How this rumored technique to manufacture the potential screens for the Galaxy S10 will affect the units pricing has not been discussed.
The new bezel-free Galaxy S10 screen that BGR discussed is significantly different from the proposed screen designs recently released by known smartphone leakers. BGR also covers the story where trusted leaker Evan Blass describes the characteristics of the potential "Infinity-O" display for the Galaxy S10.

In a Twitter post by Evan Blass, the smartphone leaker mentions that Samsung's Galaxy S10 will potentially have "Punch Hole" styled selfie cam cutout. Included in Blass' prediction is a new user interface using Android Pie which strongly supports the TheElec report. To add to the concreteness of the speculation, Blass' information release is confirmed by another known smartphone leaker, Ice Universe.
I think S10 Lite is not Infinity-O, S10 and S10+ are Infinity-O pic.twitter.com/W25dvDM2lb — Ice universe (@UniverseIce) November 13, 2018
Ice Universe themselves has also shared his thoughts on the "Infinity-O" screen and its potential unavailability for the Galaxy S10 Lite. And to round out the leak community's speculation on the Galaxy S10's "Infinity-O" screen, known concept renderer Ben Geskin shares his take on what the "Punch Hole" screen for the Galaxy S10 would look like.
Samsung #GalaxyS10 will most likely come with Infinity-O display.
At first I preferred camera in the middle. But now, I think camera in the corner will definitely distinguish them from others.

While Samsung has yet to officially unveil the final look of the Galaxy S10, the similar directions that all the current rumors and leaks are heading to seem to be positive for fans of the Galaxy S10. If the smartphone manufacturing giant makes no significant changes from now to next year, Galaxy S10 enthusiasts will most likely be enjoying bezel free phones in 2019.
