"Fortnite" may be known for its colorful, cartoonish environments, but the attention to detail that Epic Games has given a lot of the battle royale game's peripherals is definitely impressive. But recently, some gamers have spotted some telling changes that "Fortnite" is about to start celebrating the upcoming holidays, and they're not talking about just the Winter Tournaments and new accessories.

"Fortnite" is definitely a game that knows how to capitalize on seasons, with the most recent Fortnitemares Halloween event not holding back on the holiday celebrations with all the Halloween-themed loot and skins. More recently, "Fortnite" has also released a "Deep Freeze" bundle, showcasing character accessories which feature heavy winter equipment. But having a snow-themed bundle is different from drastically changing the game experience which players are now speculating over.

"Fortnite" players on Reddit recently noticed the addition of snowy mountain peaks in the background of the games lobby. Reddit user u/Dyelift20111 speculates that the newly visible snowy mountain peaks point towards a potentially new snow map to be released by "Fortnite" in anticipation for the coming holidays. But the snowy mountain leak may not be the only sign for players that something big may be coming to "Fortnite" soon.

According to ComicBook, winter may be coming to "Fortnite" in a more violent manner than expected. Certain visual changes in the horizon of the "Fornite" map have started to appear and get noticed. Fans are now speculating that rather than simply introducing new snow-covered maps to "Fortnite," developers will start brewing a serious snowstorm that could envelop players in the coming holiday season.

Reddit user u/igootin originally posted photos of the brewing cloud on the "Fortnite" subreddit which can be seen just south of the Flush Factory location. Some of the players on the thread speculate that the snowclouds can definitely be similar to "Fortnite" season 3's meteor event and could very well be tied to "Fortnite" season 7's introduction in the next few weeks.

Reddit user u/M-Seymour7 speculates that along with the snowstorm clouds in the distance, "Fortnite" fans may expect to encounter changes with the local environment as well. His prediction is that "Fortnite" players will be able to see a snowstorm warning on television sets scattered across the maps similar to how Epic Games created hype for "Fortnite's" previous seasons.

Regardless if the growing snow clouds in the horizon will actually affect "Fortnite's" gameplay in the near future, it is surprising to see how much hype static assets in the game are creating amongst its fan base. With fan expectations looking to be particularly high this time around, hopefully, Epic Games will still be able to pull a surprise that will delight most of its "Fortnite" players.
