OnePlus has already surprised all the smartphone lovers with its next-gen handset: '6T', this year. The company is now coming up with a new software update for the same. OnePlus 6T has started receiving OxygenOS 9.0.6 update based on Android operating system support. The update comes as an OTA update bringing a changelog which includes a number of bug fixes, improvements on battery stabilization and others.
According to XDADevelopers, the OTA update will bring a number of modifications. The changelog of the update suggested potential upgrades in various sections of OnePlus 6T. These include: "System: Improved unlocking experience, Optimized standby power consumption, General bug fixes, and improvements."
For improvements in terms of Communication, the OTA has brought fixes to "issues with adding APN on Verizon network, Third-Party Apps" and remedies for the "issues with no notifications from Play Store." For the Camera section, OxygenOS 9.0.6 update has brought "Optimized image processing."
As per a report by WCCFtech, the fixes that have been rolled out with the OTA are the solution to a number of operational issues recently witnessed by many users of OnePlus 6T. One of these bugs has been reported massively, which didn't allow third-party camera apps to launch or accessing it by the double press of power button.
OnePlus officially noted about the update: "This OTA will have a staged rollout. The OTA will be received by a limited number of users today and will have a broader rollout in a few days after making sure there are no critical bugs. Using VPN to download this build might not work as the rollout is not based on regions and is randomly pushed out to a limited number of devices."
The source even stated that this roll-out of OTA to its latest device is nothing new for OnePlus. The company has been carrying forward its tradition of bringing up new software update, just like the newest OxygenOS 9.0.6 update, within one month of the official launch of its smartphone. Reportedly, the company did the same in case of the OnePlus 5T, earlier.
However, this OxygenOS 9.0.6 update is limited to the global models of OnePlus 6T. T-Mobile variants of the same are not entitled, to now, to get this update. Possibly, users of the T-Mobile carrier based OnePlus 6T have to wait for some time to get the bug fixes, before the OTA update could go through several rounds of tests in the network.
