It has been a while since a major video game release has happened for the "Alien" franchise, but it looks like 20th Century Fox still sees particular value in it when it announced a new video game in the works at the start of the year. While details about the upcoming game have been quiet since its announcement, more recent events are shedding more light about the new game that could end up getting titled "Alien: Blackout."
According to GameSpot, 20th Century Fox has recently filed a trademark application for the video game title "Alien: Blackout." No concrete details have been announced regarding the gameplay and content of "Alien: Blackout" and such information was particularly absent throughout most of 2018's largest gaming events. While "Alien: Blackout" could be the shooter that FoxNext owned Cold Iron Studios is working on, no official announcement has confirmed that "Alien: Blackout" and the Cold Iron Studios project are one and the same.
Considering the silence about "Alien: Blackout" in most public gaming events, . The publication notes that while a trademark application is not a sure sign that a video game will be made - as companies tend to use it to simply ensure the future of a franchise - there are a couple of teasers that may lead towards an official announcement for "Alien: Blackout" in the near future.
