"Hitman 2" recently unveiled its first Elusive Target event shortly after its release and fans of a certain British actor may want to join in on the fun as soon as possible. IO Interactive is participating in a longstanding tradition of having "Game of Thrones" actor Sean Bean die in a part he is playing and this time, they want the players to do the job.
According to GameSpot, IO Interactive has cast Sean Bean as the face and voice of MI5 agent-turned-rogue assassin, Mark Faba for "Hitman 2's" "The Undying" Elusive Target contract. "Hitman 2" players will be able to work towards eliminating Mr. Faba in a fictional location within Florida. To make matters more interesting, players will have to eliminate Mark Faba while Faba himself is planning his own assassination of another in-game character.
The Elusive Target game mode is a single-attempt mission that provides players a chance to receive special cosmetic and item rewards for "Hitman 2." Some of the special rewards for completing an Elusive Target contract successfully include exclusive suits for Agent 47. Each Elusive Target contract is available for two weeks and players must accomplish the mission once, with failure locking out the possibility of retrying the mission again.
IO Interactive's choice to cast Sean Bean as the game's first elusive target is a humorous shout-out to the British actor's tendency to take roles which end with his character dying one way or another. The fact that players actually have a chance to fail the Elusive Target contract actually means that Sean Bean's character has a higher chance of surviving his assailants this time around compared to his move and television series roles.
"Hitman 2's" Mark Faba is already available to take down as of Nov. 20 but players have at least 14 days to try and take down Sean Bean's digital alter-ego. This means that "Hitman 2" players have at least seven more days left to ensure that Sean Bean's character will not be able to accomplish his mission.
Fans who have had the pleasure of enjoying the thrill of hunting down Mark Faba in "Hitman 2" can look forward December potentially bringing two more Elusive Target contracts to participate in. With Sean Bean appearing for "Hitman 2" and Gary Busey already an Elusive Target to the first current generation "Hitman" game, fans can hopefully expect more interesting celebrity cameos to happen for "Hitman 2" in the near future.
