"Pokemon Go" has even more end-of-year surprises for its most dedicated players - especially those who have missed a lot of the exclusive content that the Niantic released earlier in the year. This time, it seems Niantic is giving "Pokemon Go" trainers a second chance to round out their collection of legendary pokemon just in time for the holiday season.
According to GameSpot, "Pokemon Go" will be bringing back Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, Raikou, Entei, and Suicune as potential field research tasks this December. "Pokemon Go" players who missed their chance to catch the six legendary pokemon when they were originally available through previous field research tasks will have another opportunity to round out their collection before the year ends.
Along with the legendary pokemon, "Pokemon Go" players will encounter familiar field research tasks which Niantic have chosen based on their popularity with players. "Pokemon Go" players who consistently finish a research task every day for a week will be eligible for a research breakthrough reward. As the publication notes, players will be able to acquire the research tasks by simply visiting the nearest poke stop and spinning the stop's icon.
The publication notes that the new field research tasks will be available to "Pokemon Go" players by Dec. 1. Players who cannot wait to work on the new field research tasks should make sure that they have done enough of this month's field research to encounter Shedninja. Once the legendary pokemon become December's field research rewards, it might be a while until Shedninja becomes available to acquire again.
The re-introduction of the six legendary pokemon to "Pokemon Go's" field research activities also coincides with the on-going chance to capture the Psychic-type legendary pokemon Cresselia. Cressila is currently available to be battled by players at Raids which can let them earn the chance to capture it. With the six legendary pokemon and Cresselia, but Niantic's planned holiday rewards for "Pokemon Go" players do not stop there.
With the Legendary pokemon returning to "Pokemon Go" when December starts, players who do not waste time getting back into the game are also in for a special treat. Nov.30 is the start of the last "Pokemon Go" Community weekend for the year. Aside from a chance to catch the three legendary birds and three legendary dog pokemon, "Pokemon Go" players also get another chance at catching special pokemon like Pikachus with different hats, Cyndaquil, Chikorita, Squirtle, and Eevee until Dec. 3.
