Epic Games takes its season announcements for "Fortnite" particularly seriously as fans have come to know over the high-quality material the company has released for the game's previous seasons. But now, it seems that Epic Games is upping the ante for the "Fortnite Season 7" release both through traditional media channels and in-game easter eggs.

Polygon recently spotted the official teaser image for "Fortnite Season 7" as the "Fortnite" Twitter account posted the announcement. The publication notes that the "Fortnite Season 7" teaser might be introducing new characters to "Fortnite's" current meta-plot. The winter theme is apparent in the new teaser image with a foreboding figure making up the mountain's silhouette in the main image who will most likely be the new character to be introduced.

Polygon also notes that aside from the witch-king-like character, the new "Fortnite Season 7" teaser image also features a small silhouette of an individual who is apparently snowboarding. The publication predicts that the silhouette could be a hint for an upcoming game mechanic involving winter sports. But the teaser image is not the only "Fortnite Season 7" gold mine that players should be looking at.

Android Authority was able to compile a number of in-game changes that have happened leading up to the "Fortnite Season 7" release. One of the most significant easter eggs is the fact that fans were correct to have surmised that the recent snow clouds that were spotted in-game off the coast of the starting island are directly connected to the release of "Fortnite Season 7."

The snow clouds off the coast of the starting islands have finally revealed a giant iceberg in the horizon, sticking closely to the winter theme that "Fortnite Season 7" has been teasing about. In addition, Epic Games even took the time to add fogging effects for character breaths in preparation for the winter season.

Players have already tried getting as close as possible to the recently revealed iceberg and have found that a castle that is apparently made of ice sits on top of it. This could directly be related to the crowned figure teased in the "Fortnite Season 7" image and - as Android Authority points out - could also be tied to the teleportation technology showcased in the Wailing Woods laboratory.

Fans excited for the official release of "Fortnite Season 7" do not have long to wait. Epic Games will be releasing official information for the game's upcoming season along with its release on Dec. 7, just as the previous "Fortnite" season ends on Dec. 6.
