Excitement over the new Galaxy S10+ renders may have been dampened by the less than inspired concept render covered by Android Police, but the smartphone enthusiast community's most trusted leaker just might have a better alternative. While there are not many significant differences from the original concept design, the new proposed Galaxy S10+ look looks sleeker than its competition.

According to Tom's Guide, known smartphone leaker knew as Ice Universe recently posted on Twitter an image featuring a new Galaxy S10+ render as well as the new Galaxy S10+ protective film in hand, confirming the smartphone's upcoming design. The leaker notes that while the recent concept renders that featured the five-camera arrangement for the Galaxy S10+ was impressive, much of the details the render covered was wrong.

Ice Universe highlights the fact that the recent Galaxy S10+ render would mean that Samsung would have to produce a phone with a side bezel that would reach 3.5mm or more in thickness similar to the iPhone XS. The leaker believes that producing such a smartphone would be a design choice that Samsung will not pursue the Galaxy S10+.

Tom's Guide notes that Ice Universe believes that the leak regarding the protective film is the best evidence for how the Galaxy S10+ will appear when it launches. According to Ice Universe, Samsung is already mass producing the glass for the upcoming Galaxy S10+ and its other models which makes the protective film the closest point of information that any leaker or concept renderer has right now for the Galaxy S10+'s aesthetics.

The Galaxy S10+ screen covers that Ice Universe featured has some similarities in layout to the previous concept renders. But some notable differences are a sleeker bezel and a less pronounced punch hole for the two front-facing cameras the Galaxy S10+ is rumored to have. This gives the known leaker's concept render a more polished and elegant look compared to the initial renders.

Tom's guide takes into consideration that if Ice Universe's prediction about the smaller bezel measurements is correct, it might mean that the Galaxy S10+ will not be able to support a 3.5mm headphone jack as described in the previous concept render videos. If the Galaxy S10+ will have the horizontal three-camera arrangement as the previous renders are not confirmed as Ice Universe's leak simply shows the front-facing protective film.

While a lot of information regarding the Galaxy S10+ have been made public even before the smartphone's official announcement has happened, enthusiasts are still nowhere near to confirming what the anticipated smartphone will eventually look like. Fans of the Galaxy S10+ will simply have to wait until 2019 to see if whether the concept renders and leaks posted by Ice Universe and the rest of the smartphone enthusiast community will be Samsung's direction for its flagship device.
