Who wouldn't want to enjoy every bit of the world's mouth-watering flavors without taking into consideration the carbohydrates you will get from it? But this seems impossible, right? What if I tell you science have finally found a way for us to be able to eat everything and anything we want without getting fat or without getting obese or diabetic?
By using mice as their test subject, researchers from Flinders University in Australia has successfully found a way that could give an opportunity for people to eat whatever they want, even the high-fat, high-calorie, or high-carb ones, without getting overweight or increase in size.
The results revealed that the single gene called RCAN1 is more likely the culprit why their subject tend to gain fat after eating a high-fat diet.
With this discovery, they decided to remove the gene from their test subject and still feed the mouse with the same diet while realizing it has already stopped gaining weight, according to Forbes.
"We looked at a variety of different diets with various timespans from eight weeks up to six months, and in every case, we saw health improvements in the absence of RCAN1 gene," said Professor Damien Keating, who is the expert that led the study.
The expert further explained that based on the study's results, they are now working on a "pill" that will surely be the solution to the growing concern of people trying to lose weight. This weight-loss drug will focus more on the gene RCAN1, which could burn more calories, carbohydrates, and fats.
The goal is to create a drug that could convert white fat to brown fat, which is the type of fat that is healthier for humans. Doing so can also eliminate other health problems that are caused by it, as posted by The Quint. These health problems include diabetes and obesity.
By taking this "pill," the body will be able to burn calories even while at rest. This means that once taken; the person will be able to store lesser fat, without changing their diet and exercise habits.
At present, the group is planning to adapt what they discovered through human participants. Once successful, people around the globe will surely be healthier as health concerns such as obesity and diabetes will surely end.
With this discovery, experts are confident that this could help thousands of people who are struggling in losing weight and keeping themselves healthy.
