Pokemon Go players are now in a frenzy as they try to get hold of Cubone for the Meltan Special Research. Being in the winter months, capturing the pocket monster has become doubly hard, forcing some augmented reality players to simply give up.
For the remaining Pokemon Go players who are still hoping to come across one, Game Rant shares an interesting tip to possibly snag one. But there are precedents to follow before a player can go forward.
First, a player will need to make sure that they are in quest 7. Take note that this step requires a player to evolve a Drowzee and a Scyther. Both spawned a lot during the Let's Go event and was pretty easy to complete. So instead of waiting for the rare spawns of Cubone, a player can instead catch it via its evolved form - Marowak.
Unknown to most, capturing the evolved form fulfills the requirement for its lesser form. Hence, players will just need to find an Alolan Marowak raid, defeat it, and catch it. The task will not be easy although it does provide direction compared to one trying out his luck waiting for a spawn to pop up in the wild.
Also, take note that this is a task that may be too tough for one player to handle. Hence, it would be best to team up with some friends (at least a group of three) to conquer the Alolan Marowak. It will take a lot of effort and wits but will nevertheless be worth it if successful.
For those who may not be fully familiar with the Meltan Special Research, this quest focuses more on catching and evolving specific species. As an example, imagine a player who is nearing the last step or Stage 8. One of the requirements is catching an Aerodactyl. The other is to catch 2 Omanyte or Kabuto and catch 2 Lileep or Anorith. These are no easy tasks but the rewards are lucrative - x 8000 Stardust / Pokemon Encounter (Meltan) / x 1 Star Piece.
That is what lies ahead for Pokemon Go players who are able to catch 1 Cubone at Stage 7. The rewards to get higher as one progresses and eventually complete the Meltan Special Research. The nine steps can be seen here.
Again, no one said that completing these tasks would be easy. Apparently finding the required Pokemon is already tough, meaning Pokemon Go players will need to exert more effort to complete it and reap the rewards.
