Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus have been teased with numerous rumors and claims. The latest one comes as a comparison to Samsung's closest rival Apple. The insight hints that the lower chin of Galaxy S10 Plus will look much like that of iPhone X. Also, much like Apple's 3D 'Face ID' technology, Samsung is reportedly going to boast 3D facial recognition system.

According to BGR, Samsung's existing smartphones already boast facial recognition technology. But unlike Apple, Samsung doesn't utilize the 3D face recognition technology which identifies the face of the owner of the phone in a full-fledged manner and not only based on the front surface of the face. It should be noted that recently a few potential benchmarking agencies organized a facial recognition test with a number of the popular smartphones running on Android OS and iOS. The benchmarking test was done to test the security measures of the handsets.

In the test, a 3D portable face was made similar to the owner of a phone. The result of the test was shocking yet informative. The Android handsets which undergone the test were easily unlocked by the portable materialistic face of the owner, whereas the iPhone variant, which went through the test, was irresponsive to the unlocking test made by the portable face. It only unlocked with his real physical face of the owner. This made it clear that the 3D facial recognition technology only accepts the actual and accurate edges of a human face which can't be recreated with a fake face.

Thus, if Samsung plans to equip 3D Facial recognition technology the Galaxy S10 family, then it will be a path-clinching development for Android OS. GSMArena noted that Galaxy S10 Plus will boast a small and curve-shaped chin resembling that of the existing Apple iPhone X. Apple used to maintain this shape by curving its OLED panel at the edges of the chin. Reportedly, Samsung will take advantage of the same manner of design for its forthcoming Galaxy S10 lineup of smartphones.

Samsung is going to step into the new chin shape with Galaxy S10 Plus as the first handset to witness this development. However, the company has been supplying such panel to the iPhone maker: Apple, for a long time now. So, it is not so new for Samsung itself. It is not official yet, but excited fans may see the first appearance of Samsung Galaxy S10, by the end of the first phase of 2019 only.
