Xiaomi's Black Shark has already clinched superlative appreciations from the gaming geeks and smartphone analysts as a spectacular gaming handset. The next advancement to the handset that is the second generation of Black Shark was in speculation for quite some time. The expected next-gen advancement is official now as Xiaomi's senior executive came up with a brief idea about the handset in Xiaomi's official Weibo account.  

According to Times Now, Xiaomi's product director Wang Teng Thomas was the first official source to confirm the existence of the advancement to the existing Xiaomi Black Shark. In an official post on Weibo, he said that it has been 9 months since the Black Shark made its official debut and that Xiaomi is getting all set to announce its younger brother soon. He also described the second generation Black Shark as a smartphone 'full of personality, very cool and too fast'. 

Many of the earlier insights about the upcoming smartphone regarded the handset with the codename: Skywalker for some time now. Thus, whether the smartphone will be called Black Shark 2 or, Black Shark Skywalker, is still a mystery to be resolved. However, potential sources have started claiming that Skywalker and the 2nd-gen Xiaomi Black Shark is undoubtedly the same model. Geekbench also pointed out certain specifications of the coming gaming masterpiece.

As per the latest report by GSMArena, the second generation Black Shark or, Black Shark 2 will be powered by Qualcomm's high-end Snapdragon 855 SoC. The smartphone is expected to boast at least 8GB of RAM as its predecessor variant: Black Shark Helo, which was officialy unveiled in October last year, has had a superlative RAM capacity of 10GB. Xiaomi Black Shark 2 is expected to run on Android 9 Pie out of the box.

According to the newly made benchmarking test on the same, Xiaomi Black Shark 2 was able to achieve at 3,494 points for the single-core score and 11,149 points for the multi-core score. Therefore, it is clear that the smartphone will be able to render more high-end games than the first edition.

Xiaomi is expected to launch Black Shark 2 in March this year, but as the company had released the original Black Shark back in April 2018, it may keep up with its tradition and may officially unwrap the second generation Black Shark by the end of April 2019.
