Xiaomi has already offered a superlative number of gifts to its fans in the last year. It seems that the gifting season has already started for this year as the company is getting all set with its next masterpiece Mi 9. The smartphone was first seen back in January 2019 with unofficial renders having a codename: Cepheus. Since then smartphone lovers have been eagerly waiting for it. Finally, Xiaomi Mi 9 appeared over official accounts recently.

According to GSMArena, Xiaomi co-owner Lei Jun just posted a teaser in the official account with the mentioning of the official release date for Mi 9  on February 20. Xiaomi official Weibo account now also reportedly holds a picture of Roy Wang from TFBoys holding the Mi 9. As per the said image, Xiaomi Mi 9 holds triple rear snappers.

The sensors have been placed vertically in the left top side of the back panel. The top snapper among the sensors seemed to have a colorful accent around it. It appeared to be a LED light or, else it could also be a colorful piece of glass, as well. The setup also included a LED flash.

The right side of the Mi 9, as seen in the above-mentioned snaps, will boost the volume rocker and the power key, but on the left side edge a physical button has been seen, and it is likely to be the trigger for the smart assistant Xiaoai. The handset's poster picture, which has seen over Xiaomi's official Weibo account, seemed to denote Mi 9 with a codename: "Battle Angel." Potential sources and smartphone analysts have regarded this name as a supreme indication for Mi 9 to be a super-powerful handset in all possible aspects.

As for the processing unit, Xiaomi Mi 9 will be powered by Qualcomm's latest and most advanced Snapdragon 855 SoC. Although, this is nothing new as it was confirmed by the January 2019 renders as well. The smartphone is expected to boast 6GB RAM alongside either 256GB or 512GB of internal memory. As per BGR, Mi 9 will come with 3500 mAh battery with fast charging capacity at 27W charging rate.

The handset is expected to run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, although it may have room for an update to Android 9 Pie, in future. The expected price range of Xiaomi Mi 9 is still a mystery. If February 20 is its release date then Xiaomi Mi 9 will coincide with Samsung Galaxy S10 family's unveiling.
