Danny Reagan (played by Donnie Wahlberg) has been through a lot in this season of Blue Bloods hasn't he? After finding out some disturbing details about his wife's death, it seems Danny will spiral even further.

This week's episode of Blue Bloods season 9, which airs on Friday, Feb. 15, at 10:00 p.m., finds Danny in the wrong place at the wrong time. He's forced to use his gun while off duty as he tries to stop a gas station robbery, according to the episode synopsis

In his attempt to be a cop, however, someone dies in the process on Blue Bloods season 9 episode 15. The mother of this person will blame Danny for what happened, as the preview clip hints. An investigator also knocks on Danny's dad Frank's (played by Tom Selleck) house to ask for advice as it looks like Danny is in trouble with his superiors.

Danny has been out of commission for a while because he's going through major changes in his life. Aside from his wife's death, his eldest son has also been away for college, and things aren't normal around their house anymore.

The incident with the dead person's mom will leave Danny quite shaken, causing major concerns for the Reagan family. Blue Bloods season 9 episode 15 will feature Danny having a heart-to-heart talk with his sister Erin (played by Bridget Moynihan), who assures him that she's going be there for her brother.

Erin and Danny, while close, don't always have these moments to show their support for each other. But this is a critical time for her brother, who might be about to descend into a full-blown depression.

Danny's predicament, however, might continue for the rest of the season of Blue Bloods. Executive producer Kevin Wade told TV Insider in November that there are no immediate plans to introduce a new love angle for Danny to at least uplift his storyline because he feels so alone right now.

Meanwhile, CBS hasn't announced if the Blue Bloods has been renewed for season 10. The show has unfortunately dipped with the ratings this season, but it's still undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with on the late Friday night time slot.

Selleck said in a previous interview that it's normal for the show not to get a renewal announcement this early since Blue Bloods is not a new series and the contract renegotiations are done year after year. It's expected, however, that CBS will tell viewers its decision by May, during the upfronts week.
