Fans are about to see another mystery in the upcoming American Horror Story Season 9. The favorite anthology horror stories will be soon in production, which only means viewers will see it back on the small screen in the same schedule.
Production Weekly notice revealed American Horror Story Season 9 might begin filming in June. Of course, Ryan Murphy returns as the show's creator along with Brad Falchuk.
According to Comic Book, American Horror Story Season 9 will remain on the air despite the news that Disney will soon hold 20th Century Fox and its subsidiaries. Some fans fear that the series' dark theme may not fit with the studio's concept, but it seems like the company knows Fox's content is meant for mature audiences.
FX Networks CEO John Landgraf even confirmed to Deadline that the show would go beyond American Horror Story Season 9. He also said it is "up to Ryan Murphy" on how long the series would run. "It's up to how long he wants to keep going, and how many years he has inspired ideas," he disclosed.
In fact, John Landgraf revealed at the recent Television Critics Association (TCA) that after American Horror Story Season 9, they still have "three or four ideas in active development" that they somehow "acquired the rights," although Ryan Murphy is now working under Netflix. He even promised there would be more cycles of AHS and American Horror Story.
Meanwhile, it is not yet revealed what would be American Horror Story Season 9's theme, but Emma Roberts would surely return. The 28-year-old star had been seen in the series' Seasons 3, 4, 8, and a brief appearance in 7.
Aside from Emma Roberts, the Olympic skier Gus Kenworthy would also join American Horror Story Season 9. The 27-year-old Olympian would play the role of Roberts' partner. Ryan Murphy also hinted Cody Fern, Finn Wittrock, and Darren Criss might appear in the show.
Ryan Murphy also teased in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that the witches would be back. However, it would not happen in American Horror Story Season 9, but he revealed he planned "something really fun" for the new season.
So fans might once again see Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) and her covens - Billie Lourd, Leslie Grossman, Emma Roberts, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Gabourney Sidibe, Lily Rabe, and possibly Steven Nicks, and Joan Collins - together once again. American Horror Story Season 9 is expected to follow its same schedule and would be out in September on FX.
