The Orville Season 2 Episode 7, titled "Identity, Part 1," the first part of the two-part episode, revealed a big surprise when they arrived on Isaac's (Mark Jackson) home planet of Kaylon. It turned out the much-loved AI is not what fans thought he is. After he observed humans, he emerged to be an evil character, faithful to his kind, but it is the real him, or is he only being controlled?
When Captain Ed Mercer (Seth MacFarlane) and his company arrived on Kaylon, the planet's leader Kaylon Primary welcomed them by saying he deactivated Isaac. The AI's mission to observe people was already complete, and it might be his way to inform Kaylon was joining the Union.
According to TVLine, the Kaylon population is growing and looking for a place to hang their "domes," and part of Isaac's mission was to analyze Earth to be their new planet. From here, the action began when the Kaylons board their ship. However, the crew's effort to fight the takeover made them lose several lives in The Orville Season 2 Episode 7.
Ed and the rest of the remaining crew turned to be prisoners and led to the bridge as the Orville tracked the Earth. Now, what would happen next to humanity in the continuation of "Identity" in The Orville Season 2 Episode 8?
According to CarterMatt, MacFarlane, who plays as the show's executive producer, said it was part of the plan to reveal this part of Isaac's story in The Orville Season 2. As the crew remains to be hostages, they may see how the Kaylons destroy the planet Earth.
However, it is hard for fans to believe Isaac completely turns into evil. The AI may do something in The Orville Season 2 Episode 8 to help Ed and the rest of the crew. His eyes remain different from his kind, which may mean he is still unlike the rest of the evil Kaylons.
Isaac also doesn't have the same weapon as his brethren. So, it may mean he still has some good in him and doesn't want to kill anybody. He also didn't look himself in The Orville Season 2 Episode 7 when Kaylon revived him after he got deactivated.
To recall, Isaac was determined that his programming was so used to being around Dr. Finn (Penny Johnson Jerald), and changing it would make him feel abnormal. It looked like its system experienced some glitch or being manipulated by Kaylon that made him acted that way.
So, fans are hoping that The Orville Season 2 Episode 8, titled "Identity, Part 2," would make Isaac return to his real self. The new episode would be out on Thursday, February 28, on Fox.
