Piecing the puzzles will take time. With Blindspot Season 5 is still awaiting the decision for a sustainable run from NBC, the crime drama will continue to ply into the mysterious circumstances surrounding Jane Doe.
Season 4 has just come back from a mid-season rest. Jaimie Alexander's Remi Briggs and Sullivan Stapleton's Kurt Weller of the FBI will continue to run rings around each other as the Blindspot show pours on the heat.
Although in the forefront of things, Briggs or Jane Doe is still finding clues about her real identity. As her journey prods on, the question heading into the next stretch will lean on the interest of the NBC network to extend the gripping program.
Basing on the fourth installment, the show has been averaging around 2.8 million viewers and barely hanging on a 0.49 thread in the 18-49 demographic slate. Without a doubt, the numbers are down by 14% and 19%, respectively, compared to the third stretch.
With Season 4 still in the running, the likelihood of an extended presentation will probably depend on the ratings of the current episodes. Although the figures have indicated sub-par performance, there are other reasons contributing to the downward direction of the ratings.
Primarily, the DVR release has garnered a sizable percentage of the viewer's market. Also, streamlining formats tend to slice into the TV and film industry's shares. With such approaches in mind, a diminished viewer base is on the horizon.
Secondly, the Friday night schedule can be quite impactful considering that a lot of viewers tend to go out around that time. This means fewer people to patronize the Blindspot show. Moreover, competition has been tight on television. With some engaging programs online, high expectations will probably be curtailed at some point.
Fans of the program will still have some reason to celebrate. Installments from Season 4 are on a roll. The storylines have been riveting and enthralling. Fans of Alexander will be in for a treat considering the action sequences that the show's heroine has been undergoing.
With the FBI always on her trail, Briggs must find ways to be a step ahead of the pursuing law enforcers. It does not help that Agent Weller is out to manipulate her. Considering that there are crimes to address and puzzles to solve, the alliance of the two may have gotten off on shaky ground.
Although the status of Blindspot Season 5 remains uncertain, a renewal sets the show up for a premiere in September or October 2019. Season 4 will be pulling down the curtain in May this year.
