Followers of the Xiaomi Redmi brand look forward to the imminent launching of two Redmi smartphones by Thursday, February 28, in New Delhi, India, one of which is expected to be the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
The event was confirmed by Redmi India, although not much more information on the models coming out has been made public, not officially, that is.
The information on specifications now available on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, expected to launch any time now, was leaked online by technology enthusiast, Ishan Agarwal. The Redmi Note 7, already launched in China, is expected to be the second model referred to above India launch.
The leaked press renders for Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro which looked similar to Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 confirmed the color selection to come out initially in black, gradient red, and gradient blue. From what else has been revealed, the superior camera, as well as the price offering, are the selling points of the said upcoming model.
However, since the report is unofficial, there is some doubt whether the Redmi Note 7 Pro is one of the Xiaomi Redmi smartphones being referred to as coming out soon, as this model has not even been launched in China yet. It was suggested that, perhaps, the Redmi Note 7 Pro would launch ahead on February 27 in China.
This possibility is supported by reports that the Redmi Note 7 Pro has gone through certification by the Chinese Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology, or by its agency, TENAA.
Specifications-wise, Agarwal has affirmed Redmi Note 7 Pro will feature a 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, with the 6GB variant of the model remaining exclusively available in China. Notably, however, it was already confirmed earlier by Redmi that the Pro variant will be equipped with a 6GB RAM and storage of 128 GB.
The Redmi Note 7 Pro will house the Sony IMX586 sensor for a 48 MP dual camera on the back; its front-facing camera will feature a notch design on a 6.3-inch screen as with that of the Redmi Note 7. The screen dimension suggests a mid-range smartphone. It may mean that what it has going for it is something not externally visible. Its strong suit as Pro model stems from an advanced Snapdragon 675 SoC processor.
Additionally, the Redmi Note 7 Pro will also sport fingerprint scan access.
Interestingly, other information has come to light that may suggest another, more accurate possibility regarding the coming out of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro model in India. There may also be some differences in the models for the aforementioned smartphone with regard to the India and China variants.
A closer peek at the TENAA record indicates a listing of M1901F7BE with specifications pointing toward the Redmi Note 7 Pro, presumably the China variant.
Notably, the Redmi Note 7 has already come out in China, housing the Samsung's 48 MP GM1 sensor. So it may be safely assumed the M1901F7BE device listed would be the model lodging the Sony IMX586 sensor.
There is a great probability that the Redmi Note 7 for India will be the Mi Play China model instead of the Redmi Note 7 China variant. Additionally, though mainly rumor, it has been suggested that the India model for the Redmi Note 7 Pro which will be launched imminently is the rebrand of the China model for Redmi Note 7.
If this rumor turns out to be true, this would mean that the 48 MP camera on the upcoming India Pro could be the sensor by Samsung instead of that from Sony.
It will not be long though before it will all come to light since it is only a day more before official confirmation is made about whether this last claim has any veracity.
