Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are now facing a lot of rumors about their alleged plan to raise their unborn child "gender fluid." In a rare event, Kensington palace issues an official statement to clear the issue after a known magazine revealed the claim, and a lot more reputable publications reported the same thing.
According to Gossip Cop, Vanity Fair reported that its "unknown source" revealed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is planning to raise their baby with a "fluid approach to gender." From here, a lot of other publications and websites reported the claim with its twist of the story. Unfortunately, not even one from those reports get the side of Kensington Palace's media relations office or even verify the news' legitimacy.
Vanity Fair's alleged source said Meghan Markle has been talking to some of her friends about birth and how she and her husband, Prince Harry, plan to raise their kid. "Her exact word was fluid," the insider pinpointed.
Meghan Markle allegedly said they plan to raise their child with a fluid approach to gender, and she and Prince Harry will never impose any stereotypes. The claim came after the former Suits actress had a star-studded baby shower in New York.
Journalists and organizations usually run stories with two independent sources to confirm if the news is true. However, Vanity Fair didn't mention if it has a second source or even attributes its quotes from named insiders. The report itself seems to be more than enough to be reproduced that not even one did the job to fact-check.
It even led to different headlines like "Meghan Markle Raising Baby with Fluid Approach to Gender - Meghan Markle Won't Gender Stereotype Royal Baby." There are also reports titled "Duchess Meghan Markle Reportedly Plans To Raise Royal Baby Gender Neutral" and "Meghan Markle Wants To Raise Her Baby With A 'Fluid Approach To Gender.'"
So to stop all the assumptions, Kensington Palace issued an official statement to deny Vanity Fair and other publications' claim that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle plan to raise their kid gender fluid. The royal residence called the report "totally false" in a statement it gave to Hello and The Sun, via AOL Lifestyle.
It is a rare event that Kensington Palace will issue a statement to deny an untruthful report. Usually, it will only let the rumors roll and prefer not to confirm or deny the news.
The last time Kensington Palace denies a claim also involves Meghan Markle. Allegedly, Prince William's wife "bitched out" Kate Middleton's staff. So to clear the issue, it said that this thing "never happened."
