Everybody wants to be healthy. Unfortunately, no matter how much they try, most people can't even begin their routine to a healthy lifestyle. Healthy organic food is often scarce and costs more. Working out and burning fats and calories are even very hard to prioritize.
Good thing, experts discovered something, which they've shared through an editorial published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine just this month, according to Health Line. Their discovery can surely spark hope especially to people who aim a renewal of their body and a good fresh start.
The experts behind the study emphasized that, with their discovery, people don't have to go to the gym anymore to be healthy. There are already a lot of daily tasks, also referred as high-intensity incidental physical activity (HIIPA), which could already be beneficial to the body like that of the effects of those high-intensity interval training (HIIT).
Emmanuel Stamatakis, Ph.D., a professor at the University of Sydney's Charles Perkins Centre and School of Public Health, said in a statement, "Regular incidental activity that gets you huffing and puffing even for a few seconds has great promise for health."
An example of HIIPA is when going somewhere such as the park. People often use their cars as it can be more convenient than walking or riding a bicycle. What they usually don't realize is that walking or biking can also be beneficial for their body. Brisk walking and biking, no matter how far or near the distance, can already break a sweat and can already be effective in burning your extra fats and calories.
Another example of HIIPA is climbing the stairs instead of taking the elevator or escalator in shopping malls, your workplace, or even while commuting. Doing so can already make your heart beat more, which can help regulate your blood flow.
The best thing about HIIPA as compared to other exercise routine is that it is realistic and feasible to all people no matter where and what they are doing. This routine can be available 24/7 and can adjust to whatever kind of lifestyle the person has.
These activities are not just beneficial to your body's fitness, as it can also be fun too, Bustle reports. Like as you walk to your work every day. You get to meet more people and discover new places, which you can never experience when traveling inside your car.
Dr. Neel Chokshi, Director of PennMedicine's Sports Cardiology & Fitness Program, said, "So if you do not have time for the traditionally recommended 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise each week, this [HIIPA] may serve as a substitute."
