With Milo Ventimiglia's Jack Pearson gone, Mandy Moore's Rebecca will be making the necessary adjustments as a widow. Going forward, This Is Us Season 3 episode 14 will present the couple's bundles of joy. Only this time, the kids are ready to join the rest of the world.
Dubbed as The Graduates, the segment will focus on Pearson's three children. Aside from tackling the relationships between siblings, flashbacks in This Is Us episode will also bring to life the high school commencement of Kate, Kevin, and Randall who are played by Hannah Zeilie, Logan Shroyer and Niles Fitch, respectively.
A grieving Rebecca has her hands full wanting to keep things in perspective for the kids as their lives without Jack rolls on. Taken into account is Kate's decision going forward. Her father's death has put her on some state of confusion about what she intends to do with her life after high school.
It does not help that her brother Kevin's passive attitude is only making things difficult. Still, the relationship between the two remains exceptional. It has always been that way since they were small as manifested by throwback scenarios.
Kevin wants to stay for Kate but the latter wants the former to pursue acting in New York. That bond apparently leaves their sibling Randall out of the picture. It is quite astounding how Fitch's character can accept such a setup with respect.
The timeline then changes as Chris Sullivan's Toby throws a big party for Chrissy Metz's Kate who feels that she's undeserving of such a blowout. It has been sixteen years after that she finally acquired her college degree. Justin Hartley's Kevin joins Rebecca and Melanie Liburd's Zoey to support her.
On the other hand, Jack's widow has something to worry about in this installment of This Is Us Season 3. Kevin has troubles of his own. His life has spiraled somewhat. He needs to do something about his drinking relapse.
Kate almost immediately senses something is wrong with her brother when Kevin left supposedly for a meeting with some film producers. Instead, she finds the latter in a room with lots of consumed bottles. Metz's character wants him to attend the sessions at Alcoholics Anonymous.
Meanwhile, brother Randall has problems of his own. The teacher of his kid Deja has suggested that the child skip the eighth grade but the character of Lyric Ross does not want to move up. His trouble mounts when he told his furious wife Beth, who is portrayed by Susan Kelechi Watson, to give up teaching in order to babysit their children.
This Is Us Season 3 ends the segment with the three siblings reconnecting in as many timelines. They have promised to stick together and to support each other no matter what.
