The unending battle of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has resurfaced again after three years since it was already settled with the estranged couples' joint statement. But the seemingly quiet end was bombarded with a new case filed against Amber Heard by Johnny Depp just this week. The $50 million defamation lawsuit against Heard came after a December Washington Post op-ed written by Heard titled "I spoke up against sexual violence -- and faced our culture's wrath. That has to change." While Heard never identifies Depp by name in the op-ed, she refers to herself as "a public figure representing domestic abuse."

It was not only the op-ed of Amber Heard that prompted Johnny Depp to file this case as he was also positive that her allegations of domestic violence were all false and fabricated with the help of her sister, Whitney Heard. The Edward Scissorhands star was furious to know from a witness that during the time of March 24, 2016, three days after the reported distress call to 911 from a third party, Amber Heard, Whitney Heard and a friend allegedly shown on surveillance footage showing Whitney Heard pretending to punch her sister.

The witness under the name of Trinity Esparza was a concierge employee of the same penthouse where Johnny Depp and Amber Heard was staying during the fateful event of March 21, 2016. On the video, Esparza testified on court documents that she saw Whitney Heard pretend to punch her sister in the face then afterward the group of Amber Heard shared a good laugh of the situation.

Although the footage did not entirely show any substantial evidence, the witness had already doubted Amber Heard's credibility when she showed up with a bruise three days after. This was not only the reason of the lawsuit filed against Amber Heard as Johnny Depp also accused her of cheating with tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, again supported by his witness under the name of Alex Romero, a security guard of the apartment where Heard and Depp once lived.

In his testimony, Elon Musk would visit Amber Heard a few times a week when Johnny Depp would be away filming one of his Pirates of the Carribean movies, staying inside the penthouse from 11 p.m. onwards. However, in a separate statement from Elon Musk's rep, Heard and Musk had an on-again-off-again relationship between 2016 and 2017, following both of their breakups from their partners, although they have started seeing each other infrequently from May 2016.

Johnny Depp has also dared Amber Heard of showing more witnesses and evidence to prove that he is capable of what she was referring to at her op-ed. Lawyers of Depp has also maintained their ground that even though Heard did not mention a name or Depp's name on her op-ed, she is indirectly and publicly humiliating him. As a result of this, Johnny Depp blamed her for ruining his career and projects that were not given to him anymore.
