Fans should get ready to say goodbye to Richard Hendricks (Thomas Middleditch) and the rest of the gang. After more than five years on the air, HBO's Silicon Valley might come to an end with the forthcoming Season 6.

Talks about Silicon Valley coming to an end started when it was announced in late 2018 that the Season 6 would be delayed, with an arrival set for sometime in 2020. It was pushed back due to the busy schedule of showrunner and executive producer Alec Berg, who is also working on another television series for the same network, Barry.

Along with the announcement, an HBO insider said that there is no decision made yet on Silicon Valley's future beyond Season 6 - fueling speculation that the forthcoming next season could be the last one. Alec Berg also added to that aspect in a previous interview with TVLine.

"I can't say we have [a specific end date] in mind, but we definitely for the first time are starting to talk about, "How long do you think this will continue...?" Alec Berg told TVLine following Silicon Valley's Season 4 finale in 2017. "There is no definitive plan [to conclude the series], but we're starting to think that maybe there are less shows left than there are in the can," he added.

Similarly, creator Mike Judge said in a recent interview with Indie Wire that he and co-creators - John Altschuler and Dave Krinsky - do not want to run Silicon Valley into the ground. The ending they always have in mind for the series may soon come to fruition, he added.

For those who are unfamiliar, the comedy TV series follows a group of five men - Richard Hendricks, Erlich Bachman (T.J. Miller), Bertram Gilfoyle (Martin Starr), Dinesh Chugtai (Kumail Nanjiani), Donald "Jared" Dunn (Zach Woods) - who founded a startup company in California's high-tech development region known as Silicon Valley.

Silicon Valley also stars Josh Brener as Nelson "Big Head" Bighetti, Amanda Crew as Monica Hall, Matt Ross as Gavin Belson, Suzanne Cryer as Laurie Bream, Jimmy O. Yang as Jian-Yang, Stephen Tobolowsky as Jack Barker also knwon as Action Jack, Chris Diamantopoulos as Russ Hanneman, Jill E. Alexander as Patrice, Chris Williams as Hoover, Matt McCoy as Pete Monahan and Haley Joel Osment as Keenan Feldspar.
